Saturday the 30th March saw the Neapolitan trio give a concert, The quintessence of Neapolitan music, in aid of the diocesan project for the Lenten campaign of the diocese, which this year has raised money to help and equip a Christian girls’ school in Kirkuk, Iraq.
This exceptional concert by the three Neapolitan tenors of the Opéra de Monte-Carlo was held in the Church of Saint Charles at 8pm. The trio, accompanied by Pauline Descharmes, pianist and piano teacher at the Rainier III Music Academy, delighted their listeners who admired the style and emotion of the beautiful and famous Neapolitan music. The great classics, such as, O sole mio, Torna a Surrento, Funiculì funiculà were sung amongst many others.
